Wa Long 瓦竜 2022 Sheng Pu'er

Wa Long is a village in the Man Zhuan area (close to Yi Wu, Xishuangbanna).

The tea gardens are within a protected area of a national forest. Although the area is not as high in altitude as others, there seems to be a special micro-climate that is suitable for growing very good tea. The environment is very good and no pesticides have been used.

Since it’s a relatively small area it can be hard to get hold of the material. So, we’re glad we managed to be able to press a few cakes.

This tea here is made from mostly ancient tree (gu shu) material, although picked together with some smaller younger trees.

Now to the taste:

This tea starts out with gentle floral notes and gets a bit more bitter over time. It has a mind clearing and relaxing effect.

This tea has been stored as loose leaf tea (mao cha) for one year in Jinghong before being pressed into 100g cakes.

Brewing

For all our Puerh teas we recommend Gong Fu style brewing using 5-8g of tea on 100ml water. Rinse the tea briefly and then do repeating steeps (up to 6-12) of 10-20 seconds.
