Da Miao 2019

This Sheng Pu'er comes from old trees of a forest garden in the Yiwu region, growing at 1300-1400m. Picked in spring 2019 and pressed later that year into 200g cakes, it has been stored in Jinghong in the south of Yunnan for about 7 years. The years in the warm and humid climate of Jinghong has mellowed the tea and has given it light aged notes of dried fruit, without having a prominent storage taste.

This tea asks for some time.

While the first steeps are fairly subtle, the taste profile builds up slowly and reveals sweet notes with a tiny hint of smokiness. There is light bitterness, but hardly any astringency.

It produces a sweet aftertaste, that lingers for several minutes, and gives pleasant, focused, and relaxing energy.

This teas is fully handmade and is grown without the use of pesticides.

A great choice for drinkers who enjoy slowly evolving, gentle pu-erh and don't mind a patient session. It also offers good value for a mid-aged old-tree tea.
